LOCAL FOOD ACCESS

Our Neighbor’s Basket Program

The Neighbor’s Basket Program is Agricole’s first CSA initiative to address local food insecurity and ensure that everyone, regardless of financial means, has consistent access to fresh, local groceries. We believe the Neighbor’s Basket Program is about building a stronger, more resilient local food system — one where neither quality nor access is compromised. It's a commitment to shared resources and dignity for all our neighbors, and we invite everyone to be a part of it.

The Why: Dignity-First Food Access

The core of the program is a trust-based $0–$35 sliding scale. Customers interested in a basket can simply choose the price they are able to pay, with no application, questions, or proof of need required. The difference between the customer’s chosen price and the $35 value is covered by The Neighbor’s Basket Fund. This fund is continuously replenished through fundraising during the summertime AgriFest street fair and by register round-up donations during the winter holidays. These contributions directly fuel community access and guarantee that local farmers are paid full price for their goods.

How To Access

Anyone can reserve a Neighbor’s Basket at the register and pay the price that works best for you. You must reserve by Sunday to receive a basket the following Thursday. Baskets are available for convenient pickup every Thursday at 3PM (held through Saturday morning).

How To Donate

We primarily raise money for the Neighbor’s Basket Fund through annual “Round Up at the Register” that runs from November 1 - December 31st and during the summertime AgriFest. We also accept ad lib donations all year round. Visit the store and ask any staff member how you can contribute today.
